ANDY FRIEDMAN
Andy Friedman is an artist, writer, and musician. His work, in its various forms, has been published by The New York Times, The Paris Review, Vanity Fair, Sports Illustrated, and The New Yorker, among others.
For the latter, Friedman has contributed hundreds of caricatures of cultural luminaries, dozens of cartoons, and various pieces of illustrated reportage over the past two decades, including a 2020 illustrated interview with his favorite baseball player, Mike Schmidt.
Friedman has three critically-acclaimed albums of his original songs and has toured the country extensively with his music. “Spotlight70,” the artist’s first limited-edition collaborative set of painted baseball cards sold in packs of ten by Topps, was released in 2021.
The second, “Spotlight70II,” dropped less than a year later, selling out 10,000 units in 72 hours. The original ink and watercolor paintings used to create the images for the popular product, in addition to his independently released “one-of-one” art cards, have become highly sought after by collectors of art and cards worldwide.
